These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of Pixio, operated by Tech in Schools Initiative ("Pixio," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using any part of the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The short version: what you make with Pixio is yours. You can use every image, video, audio track, 3D model, and other output commercially on every plan, including Free, with no attribution and no royalties. Read the details.
The Service
"Service" means Pixio and everything we offer under the Pixio name, including the Pixio website and web app, the Pixio desktop and mobile apps, Pixio Canvas for iPad, the Pixio API, and Pixio plugins and integrations for creative tools such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Blender, along with connections from AI assistants that you authorize with your Pixio account or API key.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal or business purposes. Your use is also subject to our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, which are part of these Terms.
Accounts and Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Pixio, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase a plan or credits. If you use Pixio on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organization.
Keep your account information accurate and your login credentials and API keys private. You are responsible for all activity under your account, including activity by team members you invite to a team account and by tools or agents you connect with your API key. Tell us right away at [email protected] if you believe your account or a key has been compromised.
Commercial Use of Your Creations
"Inputs" are the prompts, images, video, audio, and other material you give the Service. "Outputs" are the images, videos, audio, music, voices, 3D models, text, and other content the Service generates for you.

You own your Outputs. As between you and Pixio, you own the Outputs you generate, and we assign to you any rights we may have in them. We do not charge royalties, take a revenue share, require attribution, or cap how much you earn from them. This applies equally to free and paid accounts, to Outputs made with credits from a subscription or a one-time credit pack, and to Outputs made through the web app, desktop and mobile apps, the API, or any Pixio plugin.
You may, for example, use Outputs in:
Ownership and Licenses
Your content. You keep ownership of your Inputs and Outputs. You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload your Inputs and to use them with the Service.
What you let us do. You grant Pixio a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, and display your Inputs and Outputs only as needed to run, secure, and support the Service for you, including sending them to the AI model providers that power the features you choose. If you publish an Output to a public area of Pixio, such as a public gallery, shared workflow, or community page, you also let us display it there and in Pixio's own promotion of that area until you unpublish it. We will not use your private content in our marketing without your permission. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for limited backup copies and anything we must keep by law.
Our property. Pixio owns the Service itself, including our software, design, workflows, templates, and brand. These Terms do not give you rights to Pixio's name, logo, or trademarks.
Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to create or share:
- Any sexual or exploitative content involving minors, real or synthetic. We report this to the authorities.
- Sexual or intimate imagery of a real person without their consent, or any non-consensual deepfake.
- Content that impersonates a real person or organization to deceive, defraud, or mislead, including fake endorsements, scams, and election disinformation.
- Content that harasses, threatens, or promotes violence or hatred against people based on a protected characteristic.
- Content that infringes someone else's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
- Instructions for weapons, malware, or other serious harm, or anything else that is illegal where you or your audience are.
You also agree not to:
- Bypass safety filters, moderation, rate limits, or credit metering, including by jailbreaking prompts or opening extra accounts.
- Resell or sublicense raw access to the Service, or share your account or API keys outside your team.
- Scrape the Service, reverse engineer it, or interfere with its security or performance.
- Present Outputs as human-made when the law or a platform you publish to requires disclosure.
Faces, Voices, and Likeness
Features such as character creation, face and voice references, lip sync, and motion transfer work with real people's faces and voices. When you upload a photo, video, or audio of an identifiable person, including yourself, you confirm that you have that person's consent to use their likeness or voice this way and for the purpose you intend, including commercial purposes.
Do not use the Service to identify people, verify their identity, or infer sensitive traits such as race, health, religion, or sexual orientation. How we handle media containing faces and voices is described in our Privacy Policy.
Plans, Credits, and Billing
Pixio uses credits to measure generation. Each model and setting costs a number of credits shown before you generate. Current plans and prices are listed on our pricing page. We may change prices, credit costs, and plan contents in the future; changes to a subscription price take effect at your next renewal, not during a period you have already paid for.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your billing settings, and you keep access through the end of the period you paid for. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe, and you authorize us to charge your saved payment method for renewals and purchases you make.
Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and are not redeemable for money except where the law requires. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy. Taxes are added where required.
Some plans include higher usage or priority access. Those benefits are for normal individual or team use and are subject to fair-use limits that protect performance for everyone. We may slow, queue, or limit automated or unusually heavy use.
API, Plugins, and Integrations
If you use the Pixio API, our plugins, or connect Pixio to an AI assistant or automation tool, every request made with your API key or connected account is treated as yours, and these Terms apply to it, including credit charges.
- Keep API keys secret. Do not embed them in public repositories or client-side code, and rotate any key you think has leaked.
- You may build apps and workflows on the API and sell what they produce, and Outputs created through the API carry the same commercial rights described above. You may not offer the API itself as a thin resale or pass-through service.
- If your app lets other people generate content, you are responsible for making sure they follow these Terms and for any notices or consents the law requires.
- We may change endpoints, models, rate limits, and plugin features over time. We will try to give notice of breaking changes, but you are responsible for keeping your integrations up to date.
- Third-party tools you connect, such as AI assistants and creative applications, are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for them.
Moderation and Takedowns
We use automated systems and human review to enforce these Terms. We may block a prompt, refuse a generation, remove content, or limit an account that violates them. If we ask you to remove content that violates these Terms or someone else's rights, please stop using and distributing it.
To report content that infringes your copyright, uses your likeness without consent, or otherwise violates these Terms, email [email protected] with a description of the work, the location of the content on Pixio, your contact information, and a statement that the report is accurate and made in good faith. We prioritize reports of non-consensual intimate imagery and content involving minors. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
AI Models and Third-Party Providers
Pixio gives you access to many AI models, some of which are run by third-party providers. Models and features may be added, updated, replaced, or retired over time, and a model change on its own is not a failure to provide the Service. Some providers apply their own content rules, and a request may be declined if it does not meet them.
Disclaimers
The Service and all Outputs are provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AI Outputs can be inaccurate, unexpected, or similar to existing works, and you are responsible for reviewing them before you rely on or publish them. Outputs are not professional advice. Generation times and availability can vary and are not guaranteed.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent the law allows, Pixio and its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of the Service or any Output. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Pixio in the six months before the claim arose or $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Pixio against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising from your Inputs, your use or distribution of Outputs, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of anyone else's rights.
Termination
You can stop using Pixio and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that seriously or repeatedly violate these Terms, that put other users or the Service at risk, or where the law requires it. If we close your account without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid subscription. Your ownership of and commercial rights in Outputs you already generated survive termination, except for content we removed for violating these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as ownership, disclaimers, and limits of liability, remain in effect.
Governing Law and General Terms
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights that the laws of your country give you and that cannot be waived.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them. Changes never take away rights in Outputs you generated before the update.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the policies they reference, are the entire agreement between you and Pixio about the Service.
